18U Boys had a tough weekend at the Sask Cup #1 in LLoydminister

It was a tough weekend for the Swift Current 18U Mens Junior SunDogs volleyball team at the Sask Cup #1 in Lloydmister. The SunDogs, coached by Les Collins, won their first two matches, but lost their final three matches to place ninth out of nine teams with a 2-3 record.

They opened the tournament with a straight sets win over the La Loche Moose Meats (25-17, 30-28) and then followed up with a win over Saskatoon’s HVC 17 (25-19, 25-22).

They dropped their first match on Saturday afternoon in a three-set loss to Prince Albert’s Smashing Bananas (15-25, 25-15, 12-15) and then lost another match in three sets to Battleford’s BVC Thunder (25-27, 25-15, 14-16) to finish fourth in the round robin.

They put their tournament lives on the line Sunday morning in a crossover elimination game and lost in three sets to La Loche (24-26, 25-12, 10-15).
